With the launch of this blog, I have fulfilled two of my wishes for the year 2008. 8 more to go!

Monday, January 14, 2008
My Thai Ponggal wishes to everyone celebrating it. Too bad I will be celebrating it at my office :( Yeah, I'm working tomorrow. Damn, should have taken off! *sigh
Anyway, just had time to work on 2 wallpapers - one is here and another one in the MIndsblog. Just a small introduction to the MIndsblog, a weblog especially dedicated to Malaysian Indians. Derived from the words Malaysian (M), Indian's (Inds) and Blog (Blog), the MIndsblog started off with a mission to gather all Malaysian Indian Bloggers (MIB) in a common platform. Beside creating a platform for all of us to mingle around, and contribute to the progress and well-being of our community at large in the future.
So, who are we? We are a group of Malaysian Indian Bloggers (MIB) who wanted to start this blog ever since we organized Bloggers Buff 2007! That was like 4 months ago and now finally the plan has materialized. Pheww…! The MIndsblog team members are:

Would like to join us? There are only two rules if you would like to contribute to MIndsblog. One - you have to be a Malaysian Indian and two - you have to write a post on any category (refer to categories in MIndsblog) in relevance to Malaysian Indians. That’s all. Simple isn’t it? Just e-mail us (admin@mindsblog.com or im@tulipspeaks.com) if you would like to contribute to MIndsblog. We will do the rest!BMahendran - His name says it all! He blogs in Bolehland.
Puvanan - Our young engineer (wink wink) from JB! He blogs in The Blank Page.
Saravanan - He is the one providing technical support for MIndsblog. Thanks a lot Sara! He blogs in Saravanan07.com.
Raaja -Hails from the Penang. The initiator of this whole idea of creating one platform for MIBs. He blogs in Raajarox.
Praveen - The jewel of MIndsblog. A busy blogger from Kuala Lumpur. She blogs in The Dissected Mind.
Rames -The designer of MIndsblog. An avid photographer as well. You may find his designs and photos in RamesStudio.
and yours truly.
Now, before I forget, here is the wallpaper as promised:

Links to this postInvitation: Graduation ceremony
Tuesday, August 14, 2007
On 14th February 2003 (yes, on a Valentine's Day), I sent off my application form to do a master degree in Universiti Putra Malaysia. I was still a final year student completing my BSc back then. On 9th June 2003, I commenced my studies majoring in Clinical Nutrition in the Faculty of Medicine. I successfully defended my thesis after a gruelling 3 hours of viva voce on 21st December 2006. And now, after (slightly more than) 4 years, I will be graduating with a MSc tagging behind my name.
Cool eh? Well, the path was not that cool or simple. While some lucky ones get to go through their graduate studies within 2 years, I took double the number of semesters. The 4 years I would say, the most difficult period in my life so far. My first degree was a breeze, but my graduate studies was the greatest challenge I have experienced so far. Not because its another level of study, I had difficulties in the research and in my personal life as well. I almost quit my studies half-way, but somehow managed to stay afloat. A simple thank you to those who held me when I felt down will never going to be enough.
Graduation is one of the last thing in my mind when I was struggling to complete my daily tasks. I still can't believe I am holding the invitation letter from my university. It seems like I send off the application forms just yesterday :) This is a moment of glory which has a lot of significance for me, and I would like to share this moment of everyone here. Yes, I am inviting all the visitors of tulipspeaks to my convocation on 26th August 2007. Please e-mail me before 21st August for more details eg. the map, timing.
I'm announcing this way earlier so everyone can make it. Hope to see you guys there!!!

Many have been wondering what has happen to my style of writing. I found myself not writing any debates and serious posts for sometime now. And that is definitely not me. It just that my current life consist very much of travels and work. I have to spend a lot of time away from the Net and spend the rest of time writing my experiences in the rural areas. Soon will be reverting to the real mode of this blog :P Hopefully some of my 'blogmates' who has since disappeared will return back to tulipspeaks then. *amen.....

Kireedam - the movie sucks big time! But somehow (by mistake, i think) this lovely song ended up in Ajith's latest movie. Surely going to be in my playlist for a long time.

I will be off to Trolak** tomorrow morning *sigh! That means another 5 days (maybe) without Internet. Literally meaning I won't be able to blog for the next 5 days. I will be back on 24th July, only to leave again elsewhere on 26th. Then I will be away for good 10 days! I will try my level best to update tulipspeaks whenever possible. No promises though.
Another news I would like to share with all will be my sister's enrolment in the university. She has been offered a scholarship to pursue Pharmacy in International Medical University (IMU). I just send her off yesterday. A little sad to see her leaving home, but I know she will be back soon :). Guess both of us will be contributing a lot to our telcos for the next 4 years! And hopefully she will resume blogging *Amen! ;)
I am so sorry leaving without visiting any one's blog. Its almost midnight and I have just finished packing. Too tired to type anything more :( Just a freaking wallpaper which I did in haste for everyone:
**Trolak is a small estate town in Perak, Malaysia.

Monday, July 02, 2007
Hey guys.. Rames did us a favour by creating a poster for Bloggers Buff 2007. Check it out! Cool stuff!
And don't forget to register by this Thursday!
I have read soooooooooooo many reviews about Sivaji - The Boss that I have decided NOT to write a review on it. Ah.. that doesn't mean it was not a cool movie. A pure entertainer! Director Shanker being "Director Shanker" never failed to highlight the use of technology in his movies. In this particular song, Rajini was basically transformed into 'someone' else :p How was it done? Watch the making of oru kuudai sunlight here:

Wednesday, June 27, 2007
Ah..feel so good to be back in my office (and blogging!). I came back from my trip yesterday and it was quite refreshing. Have not edited the photos yet and probably I can get it up by Friday. So for today, let me introduce a bloggers event we are conducting right here in Kuala Lumpur!
What: Bloggers Buff 2007 is a workshop cum forum organized to gather Malaysian bloggers from different genres together to network and explore various issues and aspects of blogging. When : Sunday, 8th July 2007( 8.30am – 5.30pm) Where :Dewan Dato’ Haji Sidek, Jalan Kg Attap, K.Lumpur
Thats right! We are conducting a blogger workshop!!! Oh no! We are not going to 'teach' you how to blog.. I know you guys are pro at it ;). So what do we intend to do?
# To create a good network of Malaysian bloggers of different genres.
# To alienate fears and negative perception of blogs in mainstream print media.
# To promote blogging as a hobby and as a potential income generator.
# To promote blogging as a medium to exchange information.
Now.. its all about networking and promoting blog as vital and most happening medium of communication for today's world!
I just can't remember when we came up with this idea to conduct such ambitious project.. but the credits goes to the whole team - Mahendran, the gentleman who is chairing the commitee & commitee members; P Kamalanathan, Praveen, Puvanan and yours truly.
This is a blogging event organized by bloggers for bloggers regardless genre, gender or race, and I am counting on you guys to make it a hit!
Okie now..I know you are all geared up and wants to know more about this event. All you have to do is to visit Bloggers Buff 2007, read through our welcome post and tentative event schedule. IF you think this is for you, get yourself registered by completing the registration form. Let me emphasis here - all participants need to pre-register themselves and NO walk-in blogger will be entertained that day. Don't tell me I didn't warn you! ;)
Last but not the least, please kindly spread the word around by putting up the promo badge which was done by one of our bloggers, Saravanan in support of this event & linking it back to Bloggers Buff 2007.

Couple of posts crammed into one. Please bear with me..
Our Prime Minister is getting married to this lovely-looking lady Jeanne Abdullah (pic below) tomorrow. News of their wedding is the talk of the town, although he insisted its going to be a small private affair.
It has been more than a year since he lost his wife, Kak Endon to breast cancer and less than a year since he lost his mother. Guess its high time he needs a woman in his life. Quoting him "a woman completes a man" ;).
Related News:
PM to get married on Saturday

And guess what? Tomorrow is my parents' 28th wedding anniversary! The pic below taken during their 25th wedding anniversary. It was a grand affair organized by sis & I. We managed to keep it as a surprise till the very last minute. May be we can organize one for their 30th anniversary! :P

Nothing much to say about this video, its a much publicized song in 90s and I'm just speechless at the moment..Movie: Minasara Kanavu
Song: Vennilave vennilave
I will be off from tomorrow onwards. I am not sure when I will find time to come back to blogworld. Till then, lots of muuaxxxxxxxxxxiieeee & hugggggggggggggggggggggssss from me :P

Pirates of the Caribbean III - I don't know about others, but I had a good time watching my pirate last Saturday ;) Was looking forward the sequel ever since I got to know it will be released on the 24th.
Now.. POC3 or Spidey3? Personally, Spiderman never my fav superhero and of course I am not justifying that Capt. Jack is a superhero. Its just that in my comparison, I love Capt. Jack's character more than Spidey. Witty, cunning, carefree and smart! The special effects were good. Worth watching.
Rating - 7.5/10

Sunday, March 18, 2007
and thanks for the mails, offliners and msgs.
Truly sorry to take an abrupt break, I did what I had to do. Not to say that the break answered ALL of my doubts and confusion, but it gave me some time to think over some important issues. Anyway, I was already making a slow come back since last Friday-some might have noticed me on and off in Gtalk, YM, Friendster and some forums.
I missed discussing some stuff during my short break. Here a summary of them in random order:We won!
Malaysian doubles won the All-England title after 25 years! Oh my!!! Though I regret that the online community being so naive to this achievement, I am not letting it to deny a celebration. Badminton may not be as glamorous as football, but its a game I enjoy. And the final our team gave that day was truly energetic! Given that the pair is still very young, I predict them to grab the world title in a short period of time. (Pic by NST)
The liars!
Hahaha.. we, the women bloggers have been branded as liars and unemployed! Amazingly I didn't get angry when I first read about this news. I found it rather hilarious. Dumb people tend to say dumb things nah? Can't help it.
Malaysian Minister for Tourism, Tengku Adnan was reported by Sin Chew (9 March 07, Early Evening edition pp 5) to have said the following:
“Bloggers are liars. They use all sort of ways to cheat others. From what I know, out of 10,000 unemployed bloggers, 8,000 are women.
“Bloggers like to spread rumours, they don’t like national unity. Today our country has achievements because we are tolerant and compromising. Otherwise we will have civil war. Malays will kill Chinese, Chinese will kill Malays, Indians will kill everybody else.”
You may wanna read more about it HERE. Of course after few days, he retracted his words and said he was aiming it to ONE particular blogger, not all bloggers. Then I wonder how he can come up with a statistics when he was mentioning only about ONE blogger. (Pic from MalaysiaTomorrow - Yea.. that's him)
Horny disgusting creepy fella in the NetOkie.. now, take this as a threat or an announcement or whatever. But if I get any more flirtatious messages from any of the social network website I am in or via email or via sms, I'm gonna publish everything that you said (including your screen name and e-mail add, and if available your photo) here in tulipspeaks, and tell the world how disgusting you are. Don't play the fool with me!
Personal updates

Nothing much I guess.. As usual, I'm trying to find my path. Damn, I don't know how long I have to keep looking for a 'sign'. As for my sis, I hope things will turn brighter for her. And bro.. he will be going to college from April onwards! I still can't believe that my lil bro gonna go to college! kekekeke.. (Pic by my cousin bro - taken in the Pizza Hut right after a short discussion on his college entrance)
